    Poker on TV
How dumb is this Poker Superstars series? I watch it because...well, it's poker on TV. But it is absolutely the worst formatted event I've ever witnessed. Guys are just all in on the first hand. Just luck of the cards. No skill involved.
Now GSN's High Stakes is something to watch. Enthralling, entertaining, enjoyable. The three 'en's. Great stuff to see on TV watching these guys playing a real cash game. I expect we'll see more of this in the years to come. Maybe a nightly Bellagio taping of their big limit games...
    Anyone have their favorites?
I also don't care for the celebrity show as their 'celebrity' players aren't very good at all.

Poker Superstars is pretty lame. I just watch the WPT when it's on. I haven't seen GSN's show yet.

Poker on TV sucks because they can only show a few hands. I don't watch much TV poker, but when I do, I focus on the personalities and just try to be entertained. I'm not looking for any groundbreaking poker. Poker Celebrities is just putrid, we should subject Al-Quaida hostages to it as a form of torture.

I quit watching poker on tv about a year ago but heard about the high stakes poker thing and, since I don't get it my cable here, I downloaded all the episodes online... I've was so impressed I watched all 12 episodes in about two days... Definently check it out if you haven't seen it because this is real poker at it's best (high stakes cash game)... Only other poker I watch now (or will when the new season starts) is the heads up tourney on NBC.,..

Herbie, what's that high stakes poker show called? I'm the same as you, I mostly stopped watching TV poker after the initial hype of the WPT and WSOP on TV. I also enjoyed the heads up tourney on NBC last year. Some of it sucked, but it's easier to get a grip on some real poker. I mean, during the WPT I barely know who's on the button most of the time, much less what the blinds are at or an approximate chip count for the involved players. With the heads up championship, everything is simplified in the TV sense, making it easier to focus on some of the grittier details such as chip counts.

Slacker - it's called High Stakes Poker. GSN network. I've heard of people downloading it online; I guess they do it from gsn.com. Not sure. HOpe you can catch it because it's great stuff. It's unlike any show that's been broadcast.
