    To early with AK?
$10, 70 players left. Blinds 1500-3000, I have about 49K. Which is around the average. I have AdKd in the cutoff seat, folded around and I pop it for a standard raise of 3x the BB. the button folds, the SB blinds. The BB has around 200K. Thinks for a second and re-raises me all in. Guy had been using his big stack to his advantage and I figured this would be a good time to flip. I call. He shows AcAs. And I am out in 70th.

Too soon? Or did I simply run into a huge hand and there is nothing I can do.

    Thought please

I think you did the right thing with AK suited ... he would have made the same move with JJ QQ or AQ probably, even AK ... + there was a chance he was bluffing being big stack ... so I am sure I would have called too

Easy call. You have 16.6x the BB and the only hands that dominate you are KK or AA. With someone using his big stack all the time this should be easy. You don't have over 200 hands to wait until you get AA to play. It's a bad spot to be in usually because it could be a flip, but a lot of the time you could be dominating. Calling off your stack sucks, but in such a good position against someone pushing his stack around you have to make this move.

I agree. Good call. Sometimes the luck (or lack of it) is UNREAL!!

I don't think you can fold in this spot. Cold deck, nothing you can do.

Alot of ppl overplay AK, AK is a dog to a pair of 4's. But if he's been shoving his stack you're way ahead of his range so it's not a bad play at all.

Have to call it. If you raised it 3x you're down to 40K and likely become below average chip stack. Next blind level is probably 2,000/4,000 plus ante? Go card dead a couple of rounds and when you finally do have to push with a marginal hand, you'll likely get callers. I'd rather have a caller with big slick suited and see all 5 cards, especially against an active player. Sometimes the cards screw you. Sounds like an online tourney hand and not live play.
