Kassouf is Most Annoying Poker Player ever

It's painfully obvious Kassouf was bullied in grade school; there's no other explanation as to why he acts the way he does.

If he pulled that shit at my table, I would call "clock" on him after one minute, no longer than 90 seconds every hand.

And if that doesn't knock some sense into him, I'd have no problem meeting Mr. Kousouff in the lobby on break, trust me, I'll shut him up for the rest of the tournament, I'm not proud of it, but I've done stupid shit like that before.

I can't stomach that jackass.

Not for nothing, but I thought one of the WSOP rule changes was that you can't verbally abuse, which he's notorious for constantly doing. I heard the tournament directors were going to crack down on all that.

Yeah, Nash:
1) I think Kassouf first arrived in 2016.
2) I saw him in the WSOP room a few years ago. Maybe 2019?
3) Seeing is believing. He was about two tables over...and I could hear him. Theatrics seemingly on every hand.
4) I see why he's hated. In addition to the badgering, I know that Selbst was complaining that the the Hand per Hour rate dipped to like 12 per Hour b/c of his lengthy deliberations.
5) Players have a right to think about their play. Kassouf changes that with all the chirping in their ears.

Speech play is OK. But there's a limit. And he shouldn't be surprised that everyone hates him.

I do not like his act but unless I missed something, I do not think anything that he did warranted being banned. Most players tank for far too long nowadays.

People are so soft these days they can't even handle "banter" and "speech play".

Agree with you, Jake. We'll see what Negreanu says on this. Hard to see what rule he violated.

The better approach is to digest his speech. Figure out Strength or Weakness:
*He was BEGGING for the Fold on the old 96 vs QQ hand.
*On the recent Quad 9s hand, he arguably looked strong as a bull.

I could be mistaken but I do not think he violated any rule but the public sentiment against him was strong so the WSOP caved. This type of thing happens far too often nowadays where companies cave to pressure from social media etc. Where are the companies that stand strong and give the middle finger to the peanut gallery and send the message of take your business elsewhere if you don't like it!

I hear you, Jake. He may have violated the abusive language rule. He did say "bitch", although it may have been a general reference and not to anyone in particular.

I hear your perspective. If you penalize a player, it should be on a specific rule violation.

Nash, your assessment is probably spot-on. How in the world does this guy behave like that?

The Benger v. Kassouf hand is almost a decade old. I still remember every detail.

Four things stood out.

a) If you read between the lines, Norman Chad pretty much says Kassouf's act is wearing everybody out and to just STFU.

b) Benger, without using the 'f' bomb, did tell him to shut up already.

c) Benger's girlfriend is smoking hot.

d) Benger shook Kousoff's hand after that hand, I would have knocked the taste out of his mouth.

Good memory, Nash. Yes, it was a classic hand.

Not too long b4 that, Kassouf dropped a big pot to Vayo. AA vs AJ. Kassouf flopped AAA, Vayo called him down with the J(d). 4th diamond hits. Kassouf tries to rep a big Diamond, gets called and says "Playing the board." For maybe the first time Kassouf was silenced.
