Ok....99% sure it will be bust, but the title sounded fun.

Men, after a very busy year at work, I’m breaking free to head for quick weekend to play an event (only free weekend during the WSOP). Wanted to do a $1500 NL tournament, but unfortunately they don’t have one. Instead I’m doing the $1000 double stack (Event #34). Hopefully it will be lucky since it’s my favorite sports number (#34).

Just wondering if anyone will be out there playing as well. I know RM18 and a few others could be possibly playing.

1st win is in the books. Q,10 on SB flops top pair and rivers 2 pair. Won a decent size pot for this early.

1st level complete....was up about 3000 chips (starting stack 40k) and then lost them on a missed straight bluff.

Count is 38,800

Massive moves in level 2.

Not really, at 39,200. Hit a flush, missed a straight draw and won some small pots. Other than that, a lot of folding.

AA got me to 96K...then later in the round AK and QQ (back to back hands) costs me 30K in chips.

Another break has come....no progress really made as the cards were pretty cold. Sitting at $64.5K.

Blinds are going to be 500/1000 on the level. Hope the cards get hot like they were rounds 3 and 4.

No rush. Even if you end the day exactly where you are now it'll be over 40 bbs when you sit down tomorrow.

Is that sheet Optional posted correct? The antes are equal to the big blind?? That's really strange, at least to me, if so, never seen a structure like that! If so, 64000 at 800/1600 is actually way less than 40BBs, that's for darn sure - that means there is over 18,000 in every pot (assuming playing ten handed).

Ahh I see. Was gonna say if each player anted that much every hand...well that would be pretty lol. Even so, antes, however much they might be, do naturally need to be taken into account when calculating how big your stack is as they obviously make your effective # of BBs a bit smaller.

Tough, but as long as you're still in it still a chance! Assuming you have 30 something thousand chips, just one double up from a very nice stack! And even if you stay there still 20BBs or so, still have some room to maneuver. Keep fighting!

Good Luck. If u feel good about your short-stack game, u can be a thorn + stick around a good while. When short-stacked, you're always catching odds (relative to the pot), so not unrealistic to think u can rally.

We go hand for hand for the last 6 hands. I can make to the next day at 19.5K but on the 2nd to last hand I get 99 and shove trying to accumulate something for tomorrow. AK calls me and flops a K. And out I go.

So busto it is for me. A fun experience...but I wish the coin flips would have worked out late for me.

Time to go to the hotel and drink some beers.
