    So when is Cheryl's birthday?

A Singaporean logic problem for teenagers has stumped the world, but is that really what's expected of local students?

Nice little logic puzzle that reminds me of the process we use as poker players when dealing with imperfect information and putting an opponent on a hand.

Anyone able to get it without cheating?

What I don't understand: I know how the 1st two dates were eliminated, but why does that eliminate those entire months?

Because those were the only 2 months that had 18 or 19 listed. If Cheryl's birthday ended in either of those numbers, then Bernard would know 100% that her bday was on May 19th/June 18th. But since he 'does not know', you can automatically eliminate both months.

I picked the right date, but only because it looked like he had circled & erased it

                Hadn't noticed that.

Fukin nice angle there, you must hold your own at the tables

And and a hint for anyone who can't get it.....

Start with what it can't be and work back towards the only possible date. It took me a minute or two to work it out once I understood the first statement.

reminds me of the logic puzzles on the LSATs

hardest part of the test because they take time, so it's hard to finish the section in the allotted time period.

Ohhhhhhh, just had the a-ha moment; only after having it explained to me and thinking about it for an hour
