one question that has always nagged at me.....
In Rounders, when our hero figures out the "tell", Malkovic throws the basis for said tell against the wall at a point when the hero is still short-stacked. With said tell all over the floor, and obviously not being employed any longer by Malkovic, how did our hero manage to chip up prior to the final hand, etc............

don't have time for that... just fill my unobservant ass in..... having only seen the scene twice, both times rather intoxicated, I though it had something to do with those damn cookies....

hmmmmm.... intoxicated= missing tells, no wonder my cash game in casinos fades as I drink my way late into the night!!!!

okay, got tired of waiting for anyone to enlighten me, so I googled it..... 100 percent focus on the f'n cookies..... whether he ate them or not, whether it brought them to the right ear or left , etc etc etc..... BUT HE THROWS THE F'N COOKIES AWAY, AND THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE GAME FROM THEN ON!!!! and damon just gave away almost all of his chips when he laid down the a5, so with the tell now gone, the whole basis of him coming back by "figuring it out" fails........ again, haven't gone back to watch it; just popped into my mind when I saw someone had posted Teddy KGB's photo in another thread.......

Auto Donk is spot on here. That's clearly the Right Shift Key. I'm shocked someone as thorough as Poster Triple_D_Bet would let such a critical detail slide. Occasionally, the Right Shift Key may be utilized to create a vortex in the RNG, but far more success will occur if the Left Key is the main trigger. Just ask Poster Beerdog. I have used the key very successfully vs him in tourney and ring situations.

To me Teddy KGB's cookies were something his character was dependent on and when Damon spots his tell and his cookies are no longer on the table then he is rattled and his head is not in the game so even with the tell gone the player is not as focused as he was before when he had his cookies.

Damon has a line that says something like how he would normally let Teddy go one eating those cookies without him pointing it out but that he didn't have time for that.....meaning the purpose of pointing out the cookie tell was to rattle Teddy KGB and weaken his game.

Damn good theory.... but I think I'm sold on TDB's explanation!!!

now, joking aside, that's the first explanation on here that warrants some serious consideration.... anyone else?
