Has anyone tried 5 dimes poker at all yet? Would like to know if it seems legit before getting into anything?

#3I second that. Been playin there for bout a year and as far as USA poker goes it's one of my favorites.
I'm thinking it's gonna see a decent increase in players in the coming weeks as the last weeks of another football season coincide with the last weeks of The "Bodog Empire's" Calvin Ayre's freedom.
Even if Bovada stays up 5dimes will continue to grow.Comment -

#55dimes has 2 poker rooms.
One is on the Winning Poker Network (Shark Tank Poker) and the other is on the Equity Poker Network (Open Waters Poker).
Winning Poker Network has more traffic, better software, bigger and more varied games.
Equity Poker Network has softer games and better promotions (for cash players). You'll often be playing shorthanded there.Comment -

#7Bovada may not be directly tied to Ayres, on paper at least. But it's a well known fact that Bovada was set up as a "separate" entity ot protect the Bodog network from liability should the U.S.D.O.J. decide to take legal action against internet gambling. Take into account the fact that not only is Bovada named as the "number one U.S. facing poker room" many places, and a highly rated sports book, but Ayres, however not involved he's managed to make himself appear, is now on the F.B.I most wanted list and you've got the makings of potential trouble at Bovada. In turn an increase of traffic at 5 dimes. The U.S.D.O.J could care less whether or not Ayres has put enough distance between him and Bovada to avoid criminal liability for what happens there. I'm just looking at it like this, Bovada is a high profile company blatantly operating outside U.S. law, and you'd be hard pressed to find any story, news, rumor, or whatever, about Ayres where Bovada isn't at least mentioned.
i still play there and I don't think it's necessarily going down, but the turmoil surrounding it's sister company, and grand daddy is likely to have many U.S. players venturing out to discover other options. Including 5 dimes.Comment -

If you download 5dimes poker directly off their main homepage you'll be downloading the shark tank AFAIR. I was sent a link in an email for the open waters site.
Either way, the shark tank is a much better site, with way more competition options, and open waters is smaller but still has some really good freerolls and smaller limit games. I wish the shark tank had the same table views as open waters. They're much more pleasing to the eye.Comment -

#9Good point. I just discovered this "open waters" room the other day and am hoping it stays off the radar for a bit. Many sharks seem to still be in "the shark tank" leaving the open waters quite fun for an intermediate player like my-self.

#12I play open waters. I'm probably about even. Some days I win, some I lose. You get people like the guy a couple posts up who rainse $16 pre flop with retarded cards who ruin it and everyone folds.Comment -

#16Do what you want brother it's your choice. In my opinion I wouldn't raise pre-flop with pocket 5s because you're hoping for 2 cards out of an 50 to show up to give you a winning hand. Someone else can beat you with 6s or better. You don't have much flush or straight aspirations with that hand obviously either. Just the way I play. I'd rather play it cool and keep it going and if you get lucky on the flop and get a 5 I would keep playing conservative and let the other guy hit a high pair and think he has you and let him do the raising. And if you don't get your 5 by the river and he raises then you can just fold.Comment -

#23Can you tell us in which position do you expect a player opening with 55? Makes perfect sense if he opened in HJ, CO or BTN. I'd do the same thing, especially on 6-max tables. I'd rarely open from UTG, UTG+1, since I'm often out of position post-flop.Comment -

#28I see too many bad random beats happen on open waters… I've experience a couple myself as well. for example today i raise preflop 16 bucks than get reraised 32 and call wit pocket 5's… put the guy on kQ or Ak flop comes 4 6 10…. guy immediately raises all in for like 80 bucks… so I'm like he has AK and is over betting hoping i fold… well i call and sure enough guy has AK…. well next 2 cards that hit sure enough are 6 and 10 and he beats me with 2 pair… i just laughed like this system is too funny… but this is just 1 small example.. I could go on and on about what I've seen and experienced while playing on that poker systemComment -

#29People who blame any software haven't played much poker or should stop IMO. I've played a lot of hands online and off and the sickest beats I've seen have been live. Is the dealers software rigging those hands too? What about the hands you win? Software rigged in your favor that time I guess.Comment -

#30Got that right! Today I watched this player get pair after pair as hole cards and when his pair got beat he got another one to match his pair on the river. This player could do no wrong and what's worse he never got moved once which is highly unusual there. I get moved 6 or 7 times per tourney on occasion and surely get moved at least twice.Comment -

Softwares are great when winning, but rigged when someone beats them... Of course...Comment
