#3He didn't crush me you fool. he got dealt a cooler.
he won his own points back. I started day with 0 FYI. I was even for the day. He got dealt setup trips over trips. He didn't "crush me." He got lucky. i didn't flop a single pair for an hour. he's easy to beat. he's calling station you just wait him out, flop top pair with like Q7 and take his whole stack. He is that bad. Same way you beat Deemer. If i flopped a single pair at any point during that session i would have beat him, but even phil ivey can't beat a calling station if he doesn't flop a pair 100 hands in a row. You can't bluff the guy, so you have to hit a hand and beat him that way. I did exactly that (waited for monster hand and pushed it) and i got coolered. It was a joke. Kid was calling 75 point preflop reraises with 94 and J3 and getting bailed out every time.
he got dealt a cooler. congratulations. he got lucky. big whoop. when his luck runs out i will beat him for 30,000 in a month just like i did to Centaur.

I can guarantee you that you have not faced tougher competition than me. Back when i had money i played 10/25 and 5/10 regularly. the 10/25 and the 5/10 is much tougher in AC than in vegas. I've played high limit cash game pros, WSOP champs, self-made millionaires from poker, etc.
I guarantee you that you are dead wrong, and that you have not faced the competition that i have.Last edited by hockey216; 11-16-13, 11:49 PM.Comment -

#7please tell me that you are a 1/2 or a 2/5 player and you think that's "tougher competition" than the 5/10 and the 10/25.
lol... 1/2 and 2/5... reminds me of Deemer shit talking me saying "i play for real money. I play 0.50/1!"Comment -

#8I guess you are the best player I've ever played. I stand corrected. Just glad such a great high roller as yourself can take time from playing millionaires to play with us SBR's.
So what's your name...sure you have some cashes we can verify on the Hendon mob database.
As for me, I've only played with poker hall of famer Lyle Berman and once doubled up through Daniel Alaei in the Main Event. I'm sure these aren't equal to your counterparts so I'll be quiet now. I wish I could reach your level some day, but I'm sure I won't because I take my real job to serious to make poker/gambling my life. Besides its much more fun when it's only a hobby.Comment -

#9On a funny note, I got into a fight with Kenny Tran at Bellagio once. It was a big scene... lots of filthy swearing at each other.
He was there with some rich fish in his early 40s. Guy looked european. Guy bets river after he sucks out, I call, then after i call he tries to add chips from his stack and bet more. I was like, "once i call you can't bet more, idiot." Then Kenny Tran started calling me a motherfuker and swearing at me for an hour straight. I started barking at him. Then his friend string bet again on another hand (moved chips forward, released, then went back and grabbed more chips from stack and moved them forward 2nd time). I told the dealer he cant string bet, dealer agreed and pushed back his 2nd bet. Kenny told me to shut the fk up. I told him to shut the fk up. We were trash talking back and forth. His rich european friend got up and walked around table to try to kick my ass, but the floor manager was there and stopped him. It was funny. guy got up and was like "im gonna beat your ass." I stood up and said, "Give it a try, Fatso." Floor manager got in front of him and said, "You ain't gonna do nothin! Sit back down!" and he did. lol.
Kenny took too long to act in a few small pots, and i was like, "What is this the mysterious chinese master shit again." Hurry the fuk up pal. the pots only 100 dollars. Take 10 hours if the pots more than 500 i dont care. I have never called clock on anyone in my life, but when its 6 cents hurry the fuk up with that shit. He goes, "Im vietnamese, not chinese motherfukker." Kenny kept swearing at me. Hissing "motherfukkker, motherfukkker piece of shiittt" under his breath every hand. I was yelling at him too. We were arguing about hands. It was a mess. Finally i was up a few thousand and went to 10/25, and won a nice bit there too. stressful, but can't complain about a $10,000 night (8 in poker, 2 in baccarat).Last edited by hockey216; 11-17-13, 12:26 AM.Comment -

#10i used to be good, but i have a real job now. plus i had a gambling problem that i couldnt control, so a job gives me downside protection. i'd win big in poker, blow it in casino or in sportsbooks. i still play but not full time. thats why i play on sbr. i play on 5D too. i am good at poker, but i also have a gambling problem when it comes to the house (casino and sports)Last edited by hockey216; 11-17-13, 12:49 AM.Comment -

#11Alaei is a good player. but you only played him for less than 1 day. Besides, tournament is WAY different than cash. I can double off phil ivey in tournament if its an all-in preflop JJ v AK. it would be much harder for you to take his whole stack in a cash game. Is that what happened, you were short stacked, moved in preflop, he called, and you doubled? congrats. that happens 1million times in tournaments. cash is way different. people dont shove preflop in cash games unless they have aces or kings.
You have played 2 great players for 1 day (in tournaments not cash). You should try to play good people at cash every day. you will learn a lot playing medium-high limit cash games regularly. you'll lose at first, but you will learn a lot.
Even if you play a great player for only 1 day, you don't learn that much in 1 day.Last edited by hockey216; 11-17-13, 12:50 AM.Comment -

#12im glad you brought that up. Remembering that kenny tran story got me laughing. When i went back to Bellagio couple months later another bald guy was wearing glasses like stu ungar, and somehow he recognized me. apparantly he was a regular there and was at the table that night and was like, "you're the guy that got in that fight with kenny tran! and he was laughing." I was like, "yea his friend bet the river, i called, then he tried to bet more after i called. What does he expect, me not to tell him he can't do that?" hahaha.Comment -

#19Everyone here is playing on fkn SBR poker for god's sakes. Who the f gives a shit what we did or did not do on our poker resume when we are here playing for fkn 'Betpoints' now.
If you lose, just say gg bud, rematch in future. Who wants to see a play by play of coolers n bad beats? If you can't take it, you shouldn't be playing poker.
FWIW, hockey pwned me headsup, he's very good at it and I wouldn't play him again headup. Poker is not all about hu though, being skilled in full ring, SH cash games and tournaments, then will someone be deemed a poker savant.Last edited by theballsflop; 11-17-13, 06:17 AM.Comment -

i had a bad gambling problem though, so i had to slow it down. i'd win in poker, but then lose 5,000 playing baccarat, craps, or roulette. shit got expensive. you cant win at table games. i gotta stop that shit. i have for the most part. thats why im on sbr. so i can play casino without losing real $.

#25I'm renting out my house and moving down to play asap. However I have no idea when asap is, there's some shit I have to wait for here at home first. I've never played anything in a casino outside of poker other than free plays on a slot machine once and one time my dad made me blow money in one, so I won't have the same problem. I could never have a "real job", although I always say people who think poker isn't a real job have never played an extended amount of time.
Do you have any insight into what towns I should shoot for? When the time comes, I'm going to look on craigslist and go on an apartment tour.Comment -

#26I used to play for a living live and online. What I learned is online is 100x easier. I used to play up to 25/50 and the highest stakes sng's available to the internet with a high roi. Live the high stakes games like that are full of pros and solid players that have been playing for 20+ years. The transition was really difficult for me because you can always grind a ton of games at a time on the internet, but if you have a bad week live, it's much harder to make up for it. Waiting sometimes 4 hours for a hand is brutal. My profit went from like 100$/hr online to 20$/hr live. I don't even bother doing it for a living anymore. Too much stress and the money isn't that good live.Comment -

You can still be a good player but love the player base and have friends. You can't really expect to shake a player off a9 off unless real money is involved so you just gotta roll with the punches and have fun with it.Comment -
