What is the easiest sport to pursue if you want to get rich?

If one had an athletic kid and wanted to push him into a sport, which one has the greatest reward to "difficulty to getting to pro level"?

On a side note, I would love to make a get-rich-slow-scheme adopt a young black male, athletic kid, teach him every sport there is, keep him healthy and growing, then sit back and wait for checks to come in years later.

Baseball for sure. Overpaid greatly to not exert yourself in much physical activity.

i disagree with golf. the ROI has to be really low since the equipment, training, green fees, coaching will add up fast.

Most humans have no chance at Football, Baseball, Basketball or Hockey from the moment of conception (normally sized humans, with very very few exceptions, need not apply). That would leave soccer, golf and auto racing as the top 3 IMO.

Tennis, all the americans suck at it right now plus its an even playing field with lots of money and sponsors.

    Don't need super athletic ability.

All sports are expensive in the end. But students get good year membership prices. Coaching in all sports can be expensive. I'm not saying its cheap but with the right win you can get a entry into a big tournament. Entry fees and travel can cost you but if you want to be pro in most things its going to cost time and money.

Boxing is one that might be the cheapest to start. The gym I went to was about $30 a month. Now if you want to be really rich you need to really good.

How many left handed pitchers do you see in the bullpen and how many pro goflers do you see making money when they don't even finish top 10?

And when it comes to longevity of the career it is golf by far.

Don't need super athletic ability to play tennis?
With all due respect, that statement is so wrong.
    Beyond wrong.

You ever see Nadal up close and personal, dude is ripped.
Don't need super athletic ability to sprint full out from sideline to sideline, net to baseline, up to three hours a match at times?

You sure you don't want to rethink your statement?

I would have to agree that you do have to be in great shape to play Tennis. Just think of the abuse your racket arm is taking right back to your shoulders. Also your back. Plus sprinting to the sideline, putting on the breaks and then bolting back to the other sideline. Its tough on the body.

That's one player. Nadel is nothing special. I'm more ripped than him and I barely work out.

You obviously missed the point, you don't need run 4.0 or 40" or be 6'7 to be in the top 25.

For tennis, all you need is not be short and have alright athletic ability, its more of a "form"

Look at Roddick and all these guys with big serves, they are just pathetically puny, stick arms

You shouldn't push your kid into anything so you can get rich.

auto racing in my opinion is a learned skill, not something you are born with so unless he has some natural ability that would probably be the best shot at going pro
