Put all your high dollar valuables in the safe. Make sure the room has a safe.

Cougar, I would love to run into you out there in Vegas, as well as the rest of you punks. But that package did seem too expensive, surely you can do it for under a G.

G/F is going to Florida the first week of March...Too bad tourney isn't then because my buddy wanted to head out there while she's gone, and I don't wanna go if it's a week before march madness.

Airfare from Reagan National was $359 nonstop both ways. I don't pay for hotels or food in Vegas as I go 2 or 3 times and they take great care of me. Will be there March 15-22. Can time go any slower?

There is only 1 place I stay and it the only place to stay

    The WYNN

yes, dirt cheap. was there over super bowl last year 6 nights, hotel and airfare combined $425. they will basically give you the hotel free just to get you to Vegas. we even added on an extra night for $1 more.

    So the MGM stinks ?

How do you know the Tropicana sportsbook stinks too when it isn't done yet ?

If your staying at MGM where would you consider the best place to walk to to watch/bet the games...seating#1..atmosphere drinks etc #2 ?

    thanks

Being that I live in Vegas I can say the best place to go for the tournament is definitely the Las Vegas Hilton. Jay Kornegay is the Sportsbook director and he infamous for putting up unusual props. Just make sure you bring your blackberry to compare offshore prices.

That's one of my favorite sportsbooks to view games. I would imagine it's hard to find a seat there during the first part of the tournament.

Been there the last 6 years for the 2nd weekend of the tourney, 2 previous to that I was there first round. Good times, indeed newbies. Mirage is a zoo. I stayed there last year actually at that time. I'll be there again this year March 24-26

    best to all

I think internet comes free after you pay for the resort fee most of the casino/hotels on the strip charge anyways.

Yes it would. That's why you would take the monorail for $5.

cant wait...4 nights at the hilton wed night through saturday night. leave late sunday night.

    gonna be AWESOME

    couple points on this thread---

from my experiences, the MGM book would be terrible for march madness. its just kind of in the way.

    2. To the poster talking about the monorail from hilton to MGM. WASTE OF MONEY The MGM monorail station couldnt be farther from the sportsbook itself. Pay the 10 dollar cab fare from Hilton to MGM..lot better deal.

The strip is cool and all, but if you want to have the best betting experience then I would say either Fiesta on Rancho or Red Rock in Summerlin are the spots (There may be a few others, but these are the two best in my experience) You can't beat your own little desk space and an individual tv which you can change channels on right in front of your face. You could watch and bet on some NBA and NHL too. The downside is that station casinos are usually pretty limited in regards to various lines and props.

    This

I live in Vegas. In a suburb called Summerlin.

It has 3 Casinos, all with sportsbooks. You avoid all the idiots flying into town, that have no idea what they are doing. The rooms, and food are less expensive as you will have more money to bet with.

YTou can take a taxi to the strip if you want the night life also.

MGM just has a bad layout for massive clusters of gamblers. Lots of sportsbooks have problems accomodating the surge of gamblers that weekend though, even the brand new Aria sportsbook (which is absolutely beautiful with the best TVs I have ever seen) had issues last year simply because there were two many newbs.

Basically the larger the sportsbook the better, and yes Hilton wins.

I'm not sure about Tropicana, but judging by the fact that the place is old as shit and falling apart, I would think there book is garbage as well. But I could be wrong, especially if they are remodeling. Are they remodeling?

Yeah, I walked through the Aria last year and it looked great, but it's just a bit too far down the strip (I like running between lines from TI-Venetian-Mirage-IP-Caesar's). Is it just hard to accomodate due to the bodies or do the newbs cause actual problems? The Mirage really became hectic I'd say about 4 years ago, when I stopped going there (to watch games, I actually stay in their hotel though).
