Its going to be strange to not see the Clippers logo in that lottery. It will really hurt them if they dont make the playoffs next year.

I disagree about Sam Cassell. He was absolutely vital to their resurgence this year, but the Clippers would be better served in the long run to utilize those funds elsewhere in light of the improved play from Livingston. I would turn the team over to Shaun, let Sam walk, and use that money to pick up a decent backup PG and make sure the rest of the team stays intact. The Clippers may suffer next year under that scenario, but will be better off in the long run. Having said that, Sam did seem to play like he was 5 years younger throughout the majority of the season.

L.A loves Sam Cassell man. He was a leader and
a veteran that kept this young team focused. W/o him
I believe the Clippers we take a major stepback.

Also I STRONGLY DISAGREE that Livingston will be
effective. He has potential but he has no jump
shot and hardly even attempts a shot and Makes alot of mistakes.
This franchise should be run by a dicey veteran who
can also play offense instead of a young clumsy
guy who has extremely limited offensive abilities

I agree with IMG at least for a year.

All Livingston has is size and potential. The majorityof the time he is in, he dribbles the ball down the court, passes off to the wing, makes a half ass cut not wanting the ball to the basket, pops back out, is wide open, may get the ball and then pass it back out to the wing. He was drafted to be a dwayne wade type player and may end up being that.

But for the time being, what is the harm in signing Sam for a 1 or max 2 year deal and not New York Knicking it and give him a max type deal. Afterall, Livingston would only be a sophomore at Duke right now anyway.

He needs to get a shot and not be afraid to make plays. Also, with his size, he needs to work on the low block too. Think of the possibilites with that, most true point guards in the NBA are around 6 feet tall and in the quickness mold. He is 6'7" and would have to draw double teams all the time leaving an outside shot open or a cutting Brand or Caman. Alot of possibilities.

God, I'd be a great G.M. Hopefully, one of these days, I will owna team and do it my way. They think Cuban is bad, wait till they get a load of me.

Shouldn't we be asking Knicks fans the very same question.

why bother asking that to knicks fans ILL. they won't sugarcoat it like the rest of us.

those knicks fans really rip there teams. not only to each other, but to the media outlets in NY.

Love Livingston..Notice he was always there crunchtime..In the game I mean..They have nice roster..Maggette nice player but feast or famine..They need nice big man to spell Kaman..cassell resigning a must..But..cassell at times a disturbance to the flow in that he is always scowling..

Yeah, I like the direction the clipps are headed. But it can change really fast.

I think they need to look at getting rid of maggette. he's reached his potential.

The Clippers are a very long and tall team. They should use that more to their advantage. As I've staed in my previous post above, there are many things they can do with Livingston if he improves as well as others. Brand is really a 7 footer when you take his wingspan into consideration.

Of course, it's stillsad that it took them this long to get it right. In basketball, it is much easier to build a solid team quick than it is in any other sport. Look at Cleveland. I knowm, some of it is luck. But, how many times have they had a top 10 or top 7 or top 5 pick. Geeze.

They pass on so many future stars in the draft. Elgin baylor is another example. I've said it before. WHY DO TEAMS INSIST ON PUTTING EX-ATHLETES IN A 100% BUSINESS DECISION ENVIRONMENT. It is a position that has nothing to do with a jump shot, or a vertical leap or penetration ability.
