Penn State was 11-2 last year with a NY's Day bowl win over LSU.

They lost 13 starters from that team.

Oh, and if Paterno needs to, does Mack Brown at Texas? He had a losing season.

He really should leave. He obviously has no responsibilities. The coordinators run the show. he just walks the sidelines. He probably doesnt even know where he is half the time. I think Tom bradley could of left but he has been promised the gig in the last year or two. That is why he is hanging around.

Guy want from the top three of most respected college coaches in history to total scum..................

He fooled many over his tenure...............and laughed all the way to bank.

It's a shame he did not retire 20 years ago, many innocent kids would have been saved.

One can make a case that he should be locked up behind bars.

Ok, what am I missing here...my understanding is this:

Events between Sandusky and a child are allegedly witnessed by a grad asst, who tells Paterno. Paterno in turn notifies the University of the events...University conducts an internal investigation and never notifies law enforcement, then those responsible for the investigation lie under oath about knowledge and their duty to act/notify proper law enforcement for a complete investigation.

While Paterno in theory should have followed up on his own, realistically isn't he justified in assuming the schools administration is best to handle this. He hasn't witnessed the attacks himself and has no way of knowing who is lying if the accused denies the event. By going to police with nothing more than a second hand account he is potentially accusing someone falsesly and for a guy like JoPa this just aint acceptable.

He should have stepped down a few years ago, but that's beside the point. PSU is now toxic waste and no big name will touch them. They should ask the NCAA to allow all players to xfer without penalty and release anyone who ask.
