The purpose of this thread is to give tribute or scorn to things in the world of sports, betting or whatever. THUMBS UP
or THUMBS DOWN
.
:thumbs_up - to Julio Franco who, at 48, became the oldest player ever to hit a home run in the major leagues. More and more, I pull for older guys. I wonder why that is?
:thumbs_do - to a weird little quirk in Hollywood sportsbooks Neteller payout policy. Players are entitled to get their first 5K in payouts without fees - a $30 value - but you have to request it. If you don't say anything, they charge the fee. It's not a big honkin' deal - and I know the rule so it would never affect me - but I swear I have seen guys post complaints about it 10 times. They say they didn't know - and you could certainly make a case that it's their own fault - but I just think that Hollywood could make the whole thing go away by automatically giving people their free payouts - like pretty much every other sportsbook does.
I can't figure out what Hollywood is up to. Everyone obviously wants the free payout if they're entitled. It just seems like a bad publicity generator with such a tiny upside. I mean how many of these $30's do they save themselves?
