    Tuesday thumbs
The purpose of this thread is to give tribute or scorn to things in the world of sports, betting or whatever. THUMBS UP or THUMBS DOWN .

:thumbs_up - to Julio Franco who, at 48, became the oldest player ever to hit a home run in the major leagues. More and more, I pull for older guys. I wonder why that is?

:thumbs_do - to a weird little quirk in Hollywood sportsbooks Neteller payout policy. Players are entitled to get their first 5K in payouts without fees - a $30 value - but you have to request it. If you don't say anything, they charge the fee. It's not a big honkin' deal - and I know the rule so it would never affect me - but I swear I have seen guys post complaints about it 10 times. They say they didn't know - and you could certainly make a case that it's their own fault - but I just think that Hollywood could make the whole thing go away by automatically giving people their free payouts - like pretty much every other sportsbook does.

I can't figure out what Hollywood is up to. Everyone obviously wants the free payout if they're entitled. It just seems like a bad publicity generator with such a tiny upside. I mean how many of these $30's do they save themselves?

    Oh and

:thumbs_up - to Craig Patrick's resume. This two-time Stanley Cup winning General Manager was let go by the Pittsburgh Penguins this past week. That's a shame - he's a good hockey man. But the reason for the upward thumb is, I just think it would be cool to be able to walk into an interview with a team and, when they ask about your credentials you can say, "Well, I'm in the Hall of Fame."

Thumbs up to Matt Cain and Ervin Santana, who both pitched brilliantly last night.

Thumbs down to Eddie Guardado. He's fat and he sucks.

to the Milwaukee Brewers for a great game against Atlanta last night....game made me wish I was at the ballpark last night.

for no college football or college basketball...you don't realize how much you miss it till it's gone.

:thumbs_up to Barry Bonds for his continually excellent on base record.

Let's hope that he passes Babe Ruth's homer total sometime soon.

Thumbs down to Andy Murray. Quite possibly the most unfit athlete around.

Oh man, don't get me started on that. I got into it with them over that last year. Not that big of a deal (although still not smart) if it were clearly stated, but at the time, the cashout rules were written without any mention of having to request the free withdrawal at one place on their website. When I cashed out and incurred a charge and complained, they refered me to ANOTHER page on their website that had the rule about requesting BEFORE withdrawing.

Eventually they gave me the fee back, but they were very pissy about it. They basically created a lot of ill will for no good reason. Apparently I'm not the only one.

Don't feel alone, Mud. I pull for the old (and fat) guys myself these days. Not because of the reason taco gave, though there's nothing wrong with that
