    He'd be a longshot to break Pete's record. DJ can't get 200 hits a year forever. Call it 2900 after this year. If he got 200 a year for the next 4 years ( I doubt that), then 3700 hits and like 39 yo.....still way short and he couldn't still play SS, not a DH type, wouldn't really be good in LF.

    I could see 3700 hits tops ( if all goes perfectly), then still 500 hits short....that's 2+ great seasons. He won't get there unless he becomes a player-owner-manager.
