Weekly Review April 2nd
While Florida and UCLA fight it out for the NCAA Championship, the other focus for the week ahead is the US Masters Golf tournament. Tiger Woods is a short 3/1 favorite, but Phil Mickelson is the golfer attracting all the betting action after his stunning performance to win the Bell South Classic. Mickelson was 8/1 to win and after two rounds of golf we virtually graded him the winner as he was so far in front of the rest of the field. Many of our customers not only claimed a good win, but bet him to win the US Masters this week also. With Group betting, players to make the cut and daily match-ups, the US Masters is always a huge event for us here at www.Betcris.com
Action on the NCAA tournament didn’t let up with the amount of money bet being our biggest NCAA tournament by far. George Mason’s ‘Cinderella’ run came to an end when Florida eliminated them 73-58 Saturday and UCLA prevailed over LSU in a defensive struggle 59-45. With the number one seeds well and truly out of the picture, I’m sure bookmakers all over the world are in pretty good position regardless of either a Florida or UCLA win.
NBA was a great week for bookmakers but now that teams have already ‘clinched’ playoff spots, it always gets difficult for us. Teams just don’t have anything to play for, and others do so try and keep up with the results as many winners can be had with a little research.
One sport I could nearly always write about for being bad for bookmakers, and of course terrific for our customers is Arena Football. Every week it seems the same, big line moves, one way action and we just pay out the winners. NFL Europe this week at least for us is trying to balance the ‘Football’ winnings. Our only problem is it just doesn’t cover our Arena Football.
Baseball is finally here! Don’t forget our live ‘Halftime’ betting on baseball after the 5 Innings, it keeps us busy, and our customers last year loved it.
Until next week,
Shane Catford
