PHI gets:
Brayden Schenn
Wayne Simmonds
2nd Round Pick
Philly gets some good young players and picks but man what
a shocker. When you think of Philly you think of Richards and Carter. Not anymore apparently

Yeah that is crazy, and makes no sense to me just to free up cap space to get Bryzgalov. Good goalie but has got lit up in the playoffs recently, no need to tear the fukkin team apart for him.

Yup Bryzgalov must be asking for a lot of dough. Guys gonna be run out of town if he doesn't stand on his head next year

Kings have to be front runners for the cup next year before the season opens up..Richards, Kopitar, and Dustin Brown up the middle. Doughty and Johnson the core of the back end..and Quick can steal games between the pipes. YIKES

Yup worth a cup future bet at 16-1. Columbus at 90-1 right now, I'm sure that will drop.

Inconceivable that this would happen two years ago. Richards & Carter were supposed to be cornerstones for Philly for the next decade. Both gone in one day.

Philly still fairs the best out of this. All are trending down in their careers and this draft is stacked.

I like the trade as a Flyers fan. Carter sucks but am surprised and sad to see Richards go. We get some good young players now and free up some cap space...not the end up the world.

Richards was a no show the last 3 playoff series. Carter has never shown up in the playoffs. As a flyers lifer I'm happy with the moves. JVR is about to explode and giroux is a star. They lost very little and gained the future.

Solid deal for the Flyers in the long-term, but I can't see this team competing in the Eastern Conference for the next couple of years now. They need goalie help and they'll probably find that through free agency now. I'm also happy both are heading to the Western Conference!

Giroux and Van Riemsdyk made them expendable - They have signed the goalie, they will sign Ville Leino and probably cap room to add another possibly Erik Cole who Laviolette coached before

Sharp post.
This move has more to do with PHI knowing their defense is useless than anything else. It will take them a few seasons to get back in the running, and I think they know Bryzgalov is good for another 2-3 seasons. Richards and Carter will be long gone by then so might as well trade for the future until the defense resolves itself. With Bryzgalov you don't need a great defense but they will need more than they have now with Pronger on his last legs.
Not going to be popular moves but smart ones.

That is weird to trade the faces of your franchise. The Hawks would never trade Kane and Toews.

Good move for Kings they give up hardly anything and get a solid 2 way player that will play on both special team units. Also, who the hell is going to kill penalty's for Flyers they just gave up there 2 best penalty killers up front and they have nobody on Defense.

carter and nash will be a deadly line no matter who is in the middle. that's a ton of goals in columbus.
i think this is just the start of what is going to be a very busy offseason.
