Cascade Sportsbook Line Clarification

Management tells me that they will not cut limits.

Also, baseball totals are at -105. Some players have not realized this because the adjustment for baseball total lines is made manually. Next year they plan to show it at -105 on the front-end with everything else.

Cascade will not be offering -105 for first and second halves.

Very, very good to know. But I'd suspect they won't be raising any pro limits either ...

But what exactly is keeping this book out of A territory? Any nascent financial issues of which to be aware?

Cascade will likely accomodate you via phone, as noted above, at -110.

Cascade has always been known for having talented bookmakers and many credit players and wiseguys have been playing there for years. I have also enjoyed having an account there.

The site hasn't always offered much for the basic post-up player. It was bareboned for the sharps who were only interested in the lines and having a speedy site and there wasn't a whole lot of betting options or overnight lines (excluding NFL). There were few incentive for those players to send money including a below average bonus.

Most of that has changed recently. Cascade just put up a new website and added the obvious incentive of -105 which is rare from a book who can actually manage it.

The ratings are very competitive at the top but it is possible that Cascade will join the recommended list in the future. They have been close in the past.

Well, I can't say I've ever needed to phone in an order, but problems with having to do this would be twofold:

Obviosuly, the -110 lineset is vastly inferior to the -105.
By calling in an order and which essentially asking the book to accept, I am effectively giving them a "free option" on my bet. This means I tell them first I tell them what I want to do and only after I have done this do they tell me whether or not they will accept my bet. Knowing what I will do before I do it has a definite value, and giving them the option (but not the obligation) to take the other side of my bet is essentially writing Cascade a free call option. It just remians to be seen to what extent Cascade would choose to take advantage of this.

Bonuses schmonuses, but I will write them and see whether or not they plan to offer any overnight lines this year.

I don't think its realistic to expect to see an overnight -105 line. (I'm calling it now: The freaks at Pinnacle can not be used to debate this

) Each book can offer something and market that to their target player. The books that offer everything are the ones to worry about.

As sure as the e-mail I received from their customer support. I'll admit, however, my e-mail dealings with them were less than satisfactory.

Yes, Lenny, who would be considered their GM, has assured me that totals are also at -105. I was speaking with him when I made that post.

I just confirmed this with Angie in customer service (877-924-2233) that -105 style pricing will indeed be a part of the standard package for internet betting for all pro and college football and baketball sides and totals.

Bill's original post refers to baseball totals however -- that's what I'm querying, as a 10cent line on the totals is a big advantage to most places.

It's just unbelievable to me how many different answers to the same question one can get from the same sportsbook.
