Since 1980 to present who would you say were the all time Yankee busts. Guys that came to NY with a big contract and/or high expectations and just didn't perform. Here are some pitchers:
Staff:
1) Ed Whitson (Could only pitch on the road)
2) Steve Trout ( As soon as he came to the Yankees he couldn't throw the ball over the plate.
3) Kenny Rogers - the bigger the game the more scared he got.
4) Rick Rhoden - Yanks traded Doug Drabek to get him. Eek.
5) Dale Murray - Yanks traded Fred McGriff to get him..
Bullpen: Felix "Home Run" Heredia - never got anyone out. Joe Torre was obsessed with using him for some odd reason.
Manager: Stump Merrill....How could the Yankees hire anybody who not only called himself Stump but looked like one as well.
Position Players: I'll start off with one:
Jeff Weaver: Was never the same player as he was in Detroit.
Who else?
