UCONN $30 to win $495.....Hedge Bet?
Fellas, need your thoughts on this one. I put down $30 (before the Sweet 16 games) on UCONN to win $495 if they win the tourney. I could totally see either team tonight win. Butler's moneyline is at +150 right now, so I could be at a win/win situation if I put down some cash on Butler.

    What would you do?

It depends if you'll be upset losing out on the $495. If you would be, then play Butler ML for $200. You'll either profit $295 if UConn wins or $270 if Butler wins (Also took out the $30 lost from UConn futures play).

I'd say it's probably worth the hedge.

You'll also have a halftime line to play with...don't forget about that...

Maybe tease Butler with a NBA game tomorrow to try and hit a middle.

I would just stick with it. I don't see butler winning this game, I think if you want to play safe sure do it. But to me its a waste of money, i think Ucon wins this. Butler has not seen a place as good as Walker yet, I am not sure howard will be able to play with him. And if walker goes off, ucon wins.

I definitely feel what VI is saying, but I just have a feeling UCONN is going to take this at the end. I've followed them since the Maui. I wouldn't be suprised if Butler won. However, all I hear about why Butler is going to win, is experience of making it to the finals last year. Hell, didn't the Buffalo Bills make it to the Superbowl 4 times and didn't win one? AHHH MAN!!!! I just don't know!!!! LOL!!

Don't tease it with anything else..you're trying to turn a profit on this game, not get yourself into a middling war with other games.

By your last post I can tell you really like UConn...just ride out your gut feeling.

Why hedge? You've got UCONN @ +1400 right now when Vegas has them around -160 to -170. Vegas is thinking UCONN wins this game >60% of the time. At your value UCONN would only have to win 6% of the time to break even. Let it ride

Maybe a $100 moneyline Bet on Butler - You will either win $395 or $120. It all depends how confident you are on Uconn and if you really want to cash on the game. Either way nice Uconn bet

I would hedge a little. Enough to make yourself happy either way but not enough so that you don't care about outcome.

I ended up putting down $120 on Butler. Took the over on the game, lost that, but won the second half plays. Ended up taking home $420 on the night. I seriously appreciate everyone's inputs.

It's all about making $$, right?

Thanks to all for the praises fellas. I was down on my luck last year, then I met some really good people on here, and this year my luck has changed. I picked UCONN because of the great run they had on neutral floors this year, followed them since the Maui, Big East Tourney, then the big dance itself. To make it even more sweeter, they were hot, coming out of their conference tourney. I don't know fellas, it always seems that the hot teams going into the playoffs, and into the championship usually wins, SF Giants, Packers, now UCONN.

Those wins against Witchita St, Mich St, and Kentucky showed me how special Kemba Walker was. He's even better without the ball.

Congrats. Lots of value in the UConn line you played.
