Are Zillow values accurate ?

When I bought my house last year my real estate agent said that Zillow is considered a joke.

the zestimates do always seem on the low side...i think all the purchasing history is accurate tho

The most accurate assessment you can get on how much your house is likely to sell for is a solid real estate agent. They have the pulse of the industry and know exactly what similar properties in your area are being sold for and have sold for. Even appraisals are a joke.

I do agree for the most part appraisals are are joke they can be wrote up to equal the amount of the home purchase price. One of the best ways to get an idea is to search through your local county or city tax records if they have a database online.
