    How Good is Travis Wood???
made the mistake of taking the Brewers today...

He was good last year but I think it is safe to say this guy is the Reds best pitcher..

comes at people and has command of all his pitches...imagine if he played in a pitchers park...

Will be looking to take the Reds this year when this guy is on the mound..

    Thoughts?

Reds have a very under rated young staff, I feel like an idiot for not taking them today.

Woods was impressive last year. Got Burnt by him one game last year then started betting on him after that.

Not just Wood. This is a tough ballclub that will make some noise this year. May ride them for awhile.

Took the words out of my mouth. He has a very similar delivery to Lee. Wood looked very impressive today.

He is shorter than Lee and his fastball has a lot less movement, so he probably will never be as good as him.. but he can still be very very good...

Lee didn't become an elite pitcher until his seventh year in the majors (2008), Wood has plenty of time to develop.

I'm glad the Reds have him! If he keeps improving on his already stalwart game, the Reds take the central again. Can't compare him to Cliff Lee at this point - too young. But with Aroldis Chapman developing quickly, the Reds pitching staff may dip below a team ERA of 4.0 which is all it takes for this hitting ball club to become good value against any team.

Note: I am on Brewers today at +123, I don't see the Reds completing the sweep against Wolf.

The Diamondbacks said that, as of Thursday, about 4,000 tickets were available for the game at 48,633-seat Chase Field.
"We are expecting a sold-out crowd tomorrow night," spokesman Shaun Rachau said.

Gonna be a full crowd for the diamondbacks tonight.

As you should---they are going to have a big year----they are 5-1 and masset slammed the ball and glove after giving up the winning run in top of 9---they have a good attitude and are hungry to win----bats are hot and pitching is underrated--enough said---esp at home--

Wood could also be the second fastest player on the team. For what it is worth, I would not hesitate to put money on the Reds having the highest batting average for pitchers in the National league. Wood Leake and Lecure can all hold their own at the plate. Arroyo is a little drop off but is a gold glover. This is going to be an exciting year for Reds fans. Even with injuries, the minor league system is currently rated sixth by Baseball America.

The Reds are in Arizona but they're 8-1 at Chase Field last 9...about the only place they play well on the West coast! I haven't really looked at Arizona's sticks vs a lefty but the Reds hit lefties well since they got rid of Dunn/Griffey! They should get their offense uncranked again!

How good is Travis Wood? I watch the Reds every night....imo he can be a very good #2...gets the fastball up to 93 & keeps it down...throws strikes w/one of the best defenses in baseball up the middle with Cf-Stubbs, SS- Janish, and 2B - Phillips! He'll never have great #s pitching in Great American Ballpark but he could win 15+ for many many years!

I agree he is probably the ace but the best part is te Reds use him in a 3 spot behind Volquez and Arroyo so Travis gets to go up against most teams #3 starter which translates to him getting run support. He has an incredible upside and bright future.
