    Yes. As opposed to the early 90's when umps gave the Atlanta Braves staff the area 2 inches off of the plate leading to less runs. If an ump squeezes the pitcher more walks, and hitters zone in.

      K-Zone came about because umps were reallly fukin with the strike zone. Almost as bad as Doneghy and the NBA refs.
