I've been saying it all season Wings have a serious goaltending problem. They better hope they figure it out soon or bye bye in round 1.

They have a defense problem as well, they don't have the same commitment to defense as they did in the previous Cup years, and their personnel defensively isn't no longer elite.

Lidstrom and Rafalski aren't nearly as mobile as they used to be.

Problems are most def goalie and defense. Beyond the first two defensive pairings Lid/Raf Stu/Kro they are doomed. Salei, Kindl, Erics, all shit. Howard is a solid back up at best. Looks for a major shake up next season. I think they get tossed in the first round. Sad.

I hate to break it to you...but most of Howard's problems are stemming from Detroit's weak defense after the top line. Howard has the skill set to be a starter in the NHL for years to come...but any goaltender is going to look worse when their defensemen allow as many chances as the Wings do.

Wings better hope they don't draw Chicago in the first round or it could get ugly, especially once Sharp heels up.

Can DET flip this game to a positive heading into the playoffs? I was thinking of the STL puckline but held off. Like most I didn't expect this result.

I watch this team every single day they play. Howard is very average. He was solid two years ago when he got his break. Now knowing he is the starter, he is VERY average. The team is middle of the road defensively. Look at Howards numbers. They speak for themself.
