The remote control was me. "Boy get up and change the channel..." Good thing we only had four channels to choose from: ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS.

My familys first tv was a black and white no remote control. Only got 3 channels. When we finally got a telephone it was rotary dial---party line we shared with 3 other families. People had face to face conversations, no internet.
