Just More Prove That Books Are Sharp
It's unreal how these books come up with spreads and totals. First night of the NCAA tourney and we have a spread push and total push on the number that was widely available all day.

    Clemson/UAB total - 122

    Ark LR +4

I had both of these, but I'm not upset AT ALL about the pushes...whether they were good or bad. Just wanted to make a thread and give some props to the oddsmakers. Just proves that it's that much harder than we think to get on the right side and how important it is to get the best number possible.

I'm sure some of you were on different numbers, for better or for worse.

Wouldnt it be beneficial to the books to actually make some money though?

Got burnt by the hook on the over @ 122.5, but the other game was a OT thriller miracle push. Leading once the whole game force OT and push the 4 point spread, unreal.

That UAB team should of been in the NIT.

We'll just add to this tonight..

                Dallas/Portland O96.5 - lands on 96

Seems like people had between 95.5 and 96.5 - another sharp line. I've always noticed it, but for some reason it really caught my eye.

Just because a spread lands right on the number one time doesnt prove a line is sharp.

You state books come up with lines, from my understanding a group of individuals set the line and books do with what they want with the created line so the credit should go to the right group, not the books.

I've heard different versions, from the one you have stated to each major book in the game has a "linesmaker" that comes up with line.

Which one is it, I have no idea?

Unless someone knows whats going on behind closed doors, we'll just have to be kept guessing.
