how are over/under lines decided?

    how are over/under lines decided?
    i cant seem to find out why are some NBA games at o/u 218 points and other at o/u 180 points while all NHL games are at o/u 5 points and soccer at o/u 2.5 goals. i want to know what is used to decide what number of points they put. sorry if it has been asked before.

    wtf no one knows? common this must be the most relevant question and yet no thread about it has been started, i wonder if the answer is kept secret on purpose like a kind of secret formula...

          Hockey, Baseball and Soccer have key #'s

          Like Hockey's 5.5 and Soccer's 2.5. Baseballs can fluctuate depending on starting pitchers, team etc but they are more stable (Usually between 5.5 and 10.5)

          NBA is usually close to the average of Home points scored + Away points scored / Home Conceded + Away Conceded.
