    Parlay quiestion?
I hav e seen some things on this in the basketball section but can not see any secrets or tips for when a parlay is a good deal. With the college turnament about to begin I think it might be a good time to make parlay wagers.

Any one have help or secrets they might want to lend a new bettor?

    Thank you, Paul

My advice: don't play parlays. The sportsbooks LOVE parlay players. If they could get away with offering nothing but parlays, they would. That's because virtually everyone loses tong-term on parlays.

I have seen many discussions on this topic over the years and I don't doubt that some people will come in with pro-parlay sentiments. I have found people willing to debate it with words but I have yet to find anyone willing to put their money where their mouth is by side-betting that they can be ahead after 100 posted parlay bets (or whatever number).

That's all I'm going to say about it. Good luck with your bets.

Thank you two for the comment. I know there more risky but if you make two game bet then it seem like you can make a parlay together to. I will like to here the comment from people who do make parlay bets some times.

Parlays are the way to go if your winnning percentage is high enough. In that case you'll make a lot more money playing them. Spend the 25 bucks on the book 'Win more-lose less' by Don Peszynski, a financial analyst (!), who gives all the math behind what you need to know. One of the best investments a sports bettor could make.

            Hi El Guapo,
I dabble with a few, usually ML. Reasons are usually to get some action on a favourite, increase my payout odds and since they're favourites i can sell off all the points for a better return than a teaser.

A few months ago, I wrote a couple of primers on the mathematics of parlays:
