The Ny Knicks are worse now; they obtained the Jay Cutler of the NBA
melo punch: (or carmelo punch) A half punch, [half slap]. The Punch was made famous by [Carmelo Anthony], hence the name

The New York Knicks have obtained the Nba's equivalent of Jay Cutler. Both have a ton of talent but are lacking qualities key in their respective sports. Cutler has no heart, little leadership, and no fortitude. Carmello lacks toughness, has little team leadership, and a matador attitude towards defense.
The Knicks had to do this move...the fan base demanded it. Congrats you have doomed your franchise to 5 more years with no title.

yup, a-rod would never win a championship because he's not clutch. Kobe would never win without shaq. Paul Pierce is not a complete player and is too selfish to ever carry a team to a title. Peyton manning is not clutch in the playoffs, he'll never win a title.
    Keep on chugging that hatorade.

I think both teams hurt themselves with the trade yesterday, Sure NY on paper seems to have gotten a good deal, they however need to make a push then for WIlliams or Paul next year to make a serious run.

Melo is a top 7 player in the NBA. This is a deal of the century the deal was not even close. NY stole Melo and when they get D-WIL or Paul next yr watch out.

Carmelo, at least one a collegiate NC

Carmelo, also is among the league leaders in scoring for many years. Cutler has never been there.

Melo, has been in the playoffs every year. Led a team to the NCAA his freshman year in college. Dude is a stud. Top 5 scorer in the league over the past couple years. Knicks did give up a lot for him, but Knicks made a killing with this deal. They gave up replaceable pieces, a shooter, a wanna be scorer a decent point guard and a big foreigner. They got a superstar scorer and a veteran point guard who is a free agent at the end of year. If they don't sign billups that frees up 14M in cap space to sign another point guard. Knicks came out huge here, especially b/c they got to keep Fields a young player whose very solid.

Denver Now - Felton, Afflalo, Chandler, Gallinari, Nene
Denver Old - Billups, Afflalo, Anthony, K Mart, Nene

Knicks Now - Billups, Fields, Anthony, Turiaf?, Amare
Knicks Old - Felton, Fields, Chandler, Gallinari, Amare

Denver seems to have gotten the better deal player wise, and throw in the draft picks.

I would think that The Knicks old team would beat the Knicks new team. Carmello is a top 5 offensive player in the game, there is no doubt about that, but Chandler is a solid and big defender. And Gallinari is much better than anyone that the Knicks will now have to throw into the 4 spot.

But Who knows if the Knicks will have the salary cap to pay CP3/Anthony/Amare next year. I don't see why not, It should be the same pretty much as Miami's big 3, the Knicks will also have not much besides those 3, if it happens.

Team needs a leader now. Amare and Melo are not leaders. Even if they get one, there are no guarantees. Similar problem in Miami. Lot's of offense, Lot's of money, no titles. Gotta be able to play D in the playoffs. Ain't happenin with these two.

They're not worse. It just matters how they fill out the rest of the team. If they can get Kelenna Azubuike off the IR, that will help.

I haven't seen Billups in years since he's been with Denver. Does he have anything left in the tank? He used to have ice in the veins when he was with Detroit.

To be honest, Billups might be the cement on this deal for 2 years while they mesh and get more pieces.

NYK will not contend intil they get defense.

Will lose more 122-115 games then win them.

Melo will just show up and get 26-30 every night with this offense but it will mean nothing

They will be a good team but not even close to great
