Eye Incident

Stuart was injured on April 3, 2002[3] in New York Jets mini-camp when he was doing a special for ESPN. Towards the end of a day at camp, Stuart was hit in the eye by a football thrown from a football throwing machine. He underwent surgery that night and was out of work for a few months, and has a lazy eye because of this accident.

He had prostate, they are calling this tissue removal. He lost his eye at 2002 Jets camp catching balls from a machine.

ESPN anchor Stuart Scott is battling cancer according to the sports network.

He will attempt to maintain a normal schedule as he undergoes chemotherapy after doctors discovered cancerous tissue, according to online reports.

Stuart Scott, 45, previously worked for WESH in Orlando before making the leap to ESPN in 1993 where he quickly became a popular personality with his signature catchphrase “Boo Yah!” Scott underwent chemotherapy four years ago when doctors discovered a malignancy during an emergency appendectomy in 2007.

“There are 28 million cancer survivors worldwide,” Scott said in a statement. “You know what that means? . . . we've got a strong army!! Once again, I join the fight and like 3 years ago, I plan to beat this thing. Can’t tell you how much I appreciate everyone’s well wishes and support. I’ll be back at work soon…probably sooner than you think. I am blessed to have the invaluable support of a great team of doctors, my loving family, genuine friends, and my ESPN family

Hope he beats the prostate cancer but professionally I cannot stand this guy. He's a huge jock-sniffer who puts himself above the stories he covers. It was a nice break for all of us while he was gone.
