Played a very, very rough schedule, especially non-conference...UConn, Washington, Duke, Cuse, Texas...of which only Texas was at home. Couple bad losses to Michigan looking like Iowa now. The team has been too weak inside and missing their 3's. Lacking some serious heart on this team, it's disappointing.

They are playing like an average team AT BEST. Very bi-polar...and I agree with you. I'll be pleasantly surprised if they squeak into the tourny.

Average? They just got hammered by the worst team in the conference. That ain't average. Biggest fall from grace I can remember, to go from a #2 ranking to being awful.

This is a team that turned out not to be nearly as deep as they thought they'd be. Lose Chris Allen, lose Korie Lucious, Bird and Gauna redshirted, Adriean Payne isn't ready for prime time, Keith Appling doesn't exactly look like a McDonalds All American, Kalin Lucas still isn't 100%, Delvon Roe can't play offense, and Nix and Sherman didn't improve from last year. A large number of things had to happen for MSU to get to where they're at.

Michigan State has been playing pretty bad lately. They may turn it around but it sure looks bad right now though.

At a post game interview about a month ago Izzo called the the softest team he ever coached , looks like he was right

Oh, so average teams aren't ever allowed to lose to shitty teams?

They also beat Wisc, and Washington...and only their Big 10 losses have been against non-ranked opp. (Penn/Iowa/U of M)

I'd say they are an average team at best.

They used to be a gritty team that would get every loose ball and rebound well. They don't appear to play with any/enough energy to make up for their bad shooting this year. IF they can sneak in to the tourney, they would still be a dangerous 10+ seed that I wouldn't want to face
