They butchered Bane's character in that movie. Fukk, they butchered everything in that movie.

Bane's character is actually pretty impressive. He's much smarter than the movie gave him credit for. He actually blows up Arkham Asylum releasing every inmate that Batman put away. After Batman exhausts himself trying to capture them all again, Bane figures out Batman is Bruce Wayne, breaks into his home and the Batcave, and kicks the shit out of him before breaking his back.

Pretty good stuff.
