Why would ANY gambler live in NEW JERSEY instead of VEGAS

Some people can't handle Vegas due to the fact of gambling. Some cannot leave the casinos and being bored is the #1 reason problem, they end up at the casino's. #2 too much liquor.

Because if you have a job you'll get paid MORE in Jersey than Vegas..and if you live in Jersey and work in NYC you'll get paid even MORE...

I live in PA because it's cheaper, Poker and Casino 10 miles from me, and work in Jersey making bank. I'd love to move to vegas but won't take the paycut, that is if I could even find a job with the economy there.

The nice parts of NJ could be good in the summer with proximity to NYC major airports, etc.

Only if you're wealthy. Otherwise screw the NE states. A combination of Fla in the winter and the Jersey shore, or Ct, Cape Cod, etc in summer would be decent....if you have big money.

Fishhead you are sure right on. It was really hot during the summer here also last year and then now it is really cold. It don't get cold like this in Las Vegas. It is much drier and it is a great place to go to. I think it would be a fantastic place to move to. I think you are making a great decision Fishhead to move to Vegas. You made a lot of sense when I seen you that Florida is so humid. It was humid here also for around 5 months and it was miserable. When the economy starts getting much better I am seriously considering moving there but I am concerned about how good is the health care is and I found out the food was expensive when I was there. I did hear that the economy is starting to get better there and that is good to hear.

fish is thinking of the vegas as it was back in its heyday, most of the gambling opportunities have long since dried up. once you are out of the casino's it has rapidly become a shit hole much like the places described in jersey. homeless capital of the world, black hole for weirdo's and scam artists.

I heard health care is a mess there but how can food be cheaper? When I was there every buffet was expensive that I seen. I guess I didn't go where it is affordable.

I wouldn't mind having NYC, Philly, Boston etc. as weekend getaway choices. Also wouldn't mind having Tahoe, San Diego and L.A. as getaways either. I'd have to go with Vegas just cuz I've been there and know my way around a bit.

I think I can shed light on this topic for I have lived in both places. I am in Vegas now, and at times I get homesick for the 4 seasons and the attitude of the people on the East Coast. The quality of life is different out here and if you are vice prone, Vegas can be VERY dangerous. Another thing is I like grass. Not the grass you smoke, but the grass you mow. In Vegas, it's all dirt and fake grass. It gets kinda depressing. On the other hand, a lot more fake boobs out here and today it is 70 degrees. New Jersey is a great state. It doesn't get the dap it deserves.

The attitudes of people on the east coast is better than those in Vegas..........disagree, but then you probably grew up in the NE.

As far as grass, many homes have grass..............and if you purchase a home, you can certainly have a grass lawn, be it very small in all liklihood.

I mean Northeast ( in this case) by NE, not New England. NJ is not New England. AC is like NLV...a shithole ! There are nice parts of NJ, and places that look like Detroit.

You can keep AC, IMO. Keep Jersey, too ! Maybe a visit to places like Jersey shores, Cape Cod, Newport, etc. in the summer. Ct beaches suck, no reason to come to Long Island Sound that traps all the crap....goto Newport, CC, or the local islands ( Martha's Vineyard, Block Island), at least Westerly, RI, where it gets into open ocean. Every beach on the CT shoreline from the NY stateline to the RI stateline sucks dick ! The further you get from NY ( to the East), the better the beaches become. Hammonasset beach at about exit 62 is Ok, Rocky Neck at exit 72 is nicer, then there is Ocean beach at maybe exit 82 in New London , ( don't really like it), then Westerly , RI ( Misquamiquat) , pretty nice !,,keep going Northeast to Newport and Cape Cod ! The closer you get to cape Cod, the better the beaches become..... ( open water).

There is no reason to visit Connecticut, not a bad place, but nothing here to see ! Go somewhere else !
