if you don't go for it its 11 points, a td 2pt conv and fg can tie it.

If you go for it and dont make it 12 pts, NEED two tds now

if you go for it and make it you still need a td and fg, but not a 2 pt conv. (but you are trying one now anyways)

so basically they are just delaying when they have to do the 2pt conv, but they almost always delay

yeah you never go for that, if they recovered AND scored another td then they would go for it to bring it down to 3.

Yeah, I understand the math, its pretty basic. But if you go for 2 and get it you fire your team up more and maybe they play harder at the end. Closer outcomes also make the team and coach look better. I didn't expect them to go for 2 but would not have been surprised either way.

I disagree in that situation you have to go for two to remove the possibility of failing on a 2pt conversation later and needed 3 scores. I.E. you will know at this point if you need 2 TDs or a TD & FG. If you delay in this situation you could inevitably find yourself in a situation where you would elect to kick the FG to get w/in 8 but leave yourself no outs at that point.

I would have done it differently in the playoffs, that's all. No time to be conservative down 18 pts in the 4th.

No it was smart not going for 2. PAT made it 11 which is TD + FG (2-point conversion after TD obviously)

If he goes for 2 there and doesn't make it, would need 2 TDs.

Especially when there's only a minute and change left with no realistic chance of winning because of still being down by a couple of scores.
