Their football program overachieved. No doubt about that. 11 wins and a Big Ten title -- hard to hate on that. Not surprised they got smashed by Bama, because they just don't have that much talent. Dantonio squeezed every ounce out of this team that he could.

Houli, I agree with you in theory re: the hoops squad. Not sure what's happened from a year ago; they miss Allen and Morgan on the boards and defensively more than anything.

With that being said, there have been plenty of seasons where I've counted them out in December only to see them in the FF come March. They'll still have some ugly Big Ten losses along the way, but it's hard to doubt or count out Izzo, given the track record.

Reminds me of when I went to the garden earlier this year when they got whooped by Syracuse, maybe 10 of them started to chant Final Fours. They forget that Cuse won a championship more recently than they have regardless of how many Final Fours they have. Some of the dumbest fans I've ever met, trying to fight with 70 year old ushers.

FTR, officiating was atrocious in this game. NW shoots 23 threes, yet goes to the line 24 times to MSU's 5 and fouls half as much despite being down the whole game?
