Sounds like a dangerous practice to employ.

Why would you leave your starters in, when they have to play a playoff game next week? No reason to have Reed, Flacco, Rice any of your top 3 WRs in a game that means nothing.

They need rest. They need to avoid injury. So it would be a dumb thing to lose Flacco in a meaningless game.
