    A quick story about racism
So this boss has a mother and the mother dropped off some homemade cupcakes

Two people had birthdays somewhere down the rows of cubicles

Boss comes back and only has 2 cupcakes left and gives them to her team, of which I am not

But a young African-American lady is a member of that team and did not make the cut to receive a cupcake

This lead young lady to accuse the boss of being a racist

    And she was serious

Make of it what you will

This would have all been avoided if the boss had just explained to said young lady that these were "whites only" cupcakes. Confrontation avoided

A good friend of mine, he's a lot older than me, in his late 50's, used to manage a popeyes back in the 80's in Miami, every employee he had was black.

The regional VP stopped in at the end of the month for a visit & while he was there the power went off. My buddy said "okay everybody, smile so I can see where you're at!"

He said everybody died laughing except the VP, a white guy

Thats just the kind of rapport he has always had with anyone who worked for him all the years I knew him even. He is a jokester, but the VP just couldnt understand why all the black kids didnt get mad at him

I don't get it, what's the inference? What should we make of it Stat? Not enough statistical samples to come to any longterm conclusions.

BTW I used to write the schedule for a small company I worked for in college, we had some couples that worked for us. One white couple was Dave and Cathy. Cathy however would raise a STINK if I put "Dave and Cathy", she wanted to be listed first. She would raise holy hell if I listed the male first, she said it was an insult to her. I guess all white people are idiots. And by the way this is a true story.

It made me wonder where someone would draw a conclusion about the intentions or thoughts of a person based on the distribution of baked goods.

What would make a person view herself as a victim with Whitey constantly out to get her?

And I wonder why you draw a conclusion about an entire race based on an incident involving 1 person. Or maybe you reached your conclusion long ago and will use any single example to justify it. And don't say you haven't come to your conclusions because many of your previous posts say otherwise.

                                Welcome to the thread lib.

An argument based on unsubstantiated claims and generalities? Color me surprised.

                                3 sentences and 3 lies...impressive work.

Stat, I agree with your assertion this person sounds like a whack job, I just think it speaks directly to her as an individual and not about an entire race of people.

just to play the other side of the card if your great great grandfather was enslaved you too might be overly sensitive and quick to play the race card.

ofc in this case she is either a bit wacky or trying to set up a potential lawsuit. But this is a single case and not indicative of an entire race.

Well said, props. Always remember what a friend of my Pop's used to say. He was black but cool as hell. He did say though until you walk into another man's shoes it's hard to imagine what they feel. He said he and his brothers actually cut down his Grandfather that was hanging from a tree, he admits he's more sensitive than most when it comes to the N word. I can see why. He always said there was two sides to every story, he knew some white guys that had it rough too, the reason he never judged them was because like his own experiences he knew he hadn't dealt with exactly what they went through either. Sooner we get over what color skin someone has the better it will be for all of us. 'Nuff said.

I live in a city where, years ago, the mayor used to be an open member of the KKK.

Some whites use the race card every day. Learn your history.
