If you WATCH Detroit every week, you'd realize they are definitly on the rise. They are generally a nice play as a dog quite a lot because of that defense.
Suh is already a top 5 DT in the NFL. Alongside their veterans (like Corey Williams - ex Packer/Brown), that front 7 is brutal when they aren't giving up really dumb penalties (which they do often).
Yes, their secondary is brutal, but Gunther Cummingham is a highly under-rated D coordinator. If you can't play for him, you can't play for anyone, imo.

That said, whilst Rodgers stunk until he went out - the majority of the credit has to go to Detroit's potential on the D line and Green Bay's horrible O Line. Any scrub can run the rock behind a 'good' o line (emmit smith). It's just GB's O line is highly over-rated due to Rodgers elite talent to get the ball out of his hands FAST. GB has maybe 1 or 2 'proper NFL starters on the O line. That's something to keep in mind whilst capping... That is if you're a 'film' capper and not a 'numbers' capper.
