#39I think college coaches have it harder than pro coaches in the aspect of they are limited to what they have when the season starts. In the pros if you have a point guard get hurt you can make trades, a lineman goes down you can sign one or bring one up from the practice team.Comment -

#41In baseball - year in and year out - working with the players he has - Ron Gardenhire.
Tom Izzo same way in college hoops.
Both consistently beat teams with far more talent - and if you don't play hard/smart you don't play.Comment -

#43When you say "Sports" you need to specify which sports ...
Sir Alex Ferguson - 24 seasons in charge.
He has won 46 trophies as manager which makes him the most successful British football manager in history ...
I'm sure there are others out there with better records. Strange - I kinda figured that you might not even realize that there are "sports" outside of the USComment -

#47Agree with everyone who has mentioned Gardenhire.
College hoops, I'm partial but I still love what Mark Turgeon has done at Texas A&M. Josh Pastner, Sidney Lowe and Matt Painter are three others I'd take if a decision was up to me.
College football, I'd love to have Jim Harbaugh or June Jones running my program.Comment -

#48I'll stick with my original assessment then - not one of the US coaches in any sport would probably even make my top 10.Comment -
