I know we got UFC going on but for those not wanting to shell out for the PPV, these fights on HBO tonight should be pretty good.

Anyone betting these?

I would definetly take the over. Maidana has mediocre defense and a decent chin at best, but he is a tough cookie. Ortiz is a HARD puncher (underrated by a lot people cause he has trouble landing the big shots a lot of the times) and he hurt Maidana about as badly as Maidana could be hurt, but he was undeterred really. Didn't even seem to really be bothered too much in subsequent rounds.

I think Khan can hurt Maidana but won't be able to finish him until at BEST the very late rounds. An early round blowout is always possible cause fighters like Maidana get hit a LOT and could come into the ring cold and tight. But Maidana is an experienced pro so i have personally ruled that out.

Also Khan and Roach have been talking about how they will fight patiently and sit down on their punches more. I think Maidana feels Khans power early and will become kind of reluctant to rush in like he has in the past.

I expect an exciting fight fought at a decently brisk pace, but i fully expect Maidana to make it through at LEAST 10 or 11 rounds in the fight.

I would bet Khan by decision if my site had prop bets.


And as far as Peterson goes, i am a HUGE fan of his and I think he is a terrific fighter. Ortiz on the other hand is all speed. I think he really lacks greatly in a lot of areas. I do think Ortiz probably takes the fight, but I think its going to be a close fight with lots of good exchanges, with Ortiz's harder shots probably winning the night on the judges score cards.

But at +290, I think Lamont could def squeeze this one out of the fire.

On the Showtime card I bet on Perez -300 to defeat Agbeko again.

gotta love it when your on the money.

Peterson won more rounds in that other fight too, but the knockdowns hurt him. I thought a draw was fair.

I also dropped a lot of money on Abner Mares.
