Who would YOU vote for Heisman?
If you had a vote for the heisman tonight, who would you vote for? I think we all know Cam Newton will win the award, but should he? I feel if you simply look at his work on the field you have to say he is more than deserving. But if you think about him off the field and factor that into your decision then it becomes interesting. This guy is an athlete, and not a student by any means. I went to school that had an honor code saying I will not lie, cheat, or steal. Newton has definitly cheated and stolen when he was at Florida. Now all this coming out with his father, you have to believe he's lieing somewhat to save his own behind. Him saying he had NO idea his father was doing this and then recently saying he hasnt spoken with his father about this at all is hard to believe. I just dont know guys. He is the best player in the country, hands down, but is that merely enough to win the heisman?

What is the difference between Newton and Reggie Bush? Besides the fact that the NCAA declared him ineglible, I feel as though Cam Newton should be treated same way. I wouldnt be surprised to see something come out about Newton before the NFL draft. No way his father asked for money from Miss St but not Auburn. He got money from Auburn and FBI will find out. Dont be surprised if another trophy is returned.

You always vote for the best player. You can't vote for someone else just because someone published a he said she said story.

                i wouldn't vote for newton

it definitely was not a he said/she said story. His dad was guilty and it is foolish to think cam didnt know about it, cam should be ineligible by the rules. His dad tried to do a pay for play = ineligible

Him cheating isnt he said she said. Him stealing isnt he said she said. The new modified first line of the heisman statement speaks about integrity. That totaled with the fact it doesnt take the head cashier at wal-mart to figure out that Newtons father asked for money. Also, even if he never got money, how is that ok? You can ask for money without penalty, but if someone gives it to you then thats wrong? I think both should be considered same.

This was never a race, Newton is by far the best player in college football.

Anyone who calls him a cheater and wouldn't vote for him because of all the BS is being foolish. Don't understand how you can be upset about a college athlete getting paid.

The Heisman Trophy is for the best college football PLAYER. Cam Newton was by far the best PLAYER in college football this year. No reason why he should not have won it

by that logic hokieskin, Reggie Bush wouldnt have had to give his heisman back.

Newton he deserves it for his play, the award isn't for character or morality if it were he would get no votes.

First of all, Reggie Bush was proven to know about the improper benefits, second of all Bush actually got paid. There's no reason to believe Newton got paid by Auburn.

There are an awful lot of sanctimonious tools in the media. Just a bunch of aspiring celeb-wannabes. And sportswriters are the lowest form of journalism. If I had a vote, I'd protest the protest-vote. If they are going to leave Cam Newton off their ballots, I'm going to leave EVERYBODY EXCEPT Cam Newton off my ballot.
