I'm not a bal fan or a pitt fan; however, it's hard because on a replay everything is a lot slower so it always looks really bad. The guy is running at 45mph to intercept and/or make a hit if the guy catches it to jar it. If he doesn't run as fast, or waits to see if he catches it the defender will never break up the catch so it's tough. If he does catch it and he doesnt hit him as hard or waits easy catch so it's a tough call. Brutual hit though

He could have snapped his neck. I'm happy he is okay. That was a really cheap shot in my opinion. The NFL has to go after shots like that. Fine should be heavy.

Guys, quit parroting Goodell's BS message. It was a football play. Miller cuts back to the middle and then ducks (down, not his head though) after he drops the ball. There's nothing the defender can do in that spot if he's going to play defense.

***In the interest of disclosure, I have no wager on this game and I think James Harrison's been getting a pretty raw deal by Goodell.

I don't think the hit was illegal, but I thought it was extremely dangerous and unnecessary. I don't think a cheap hit like that is worth paralyzing a player for life.

Harrison was flagged and fined for less of a hit...the defender lead with his helmet and I thought that was the premise of this whole thing

No. He was out for the rest of the game with a concussion. Hopefully that is the worst of it and the doctors don't find anymore significant problems after all the tests are ran on him.

you can argue the merits of the rule all you want,

but the way the rule is instructed to be called, the way it is explained, there is no doubt this was an obvious violation of that rule.

The fact that the refs missed that is totally baffling, it was terribly apparent even at full speed.

I wanna see how the NFL explains this one. That was as obvious a helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless receiver that I've ever seen and NO flag on the play and NO fine as of me writing this. I demand the NFL respond to that play for the sake of the players.
