Proof that poker is beatable for intelligent people.

If with religion you mean belief system, your belief system is your religion. Again, it matters not what it is. You believe in it, you are loyal to it, would defend it, and yet have no proof of it, other than that, at one point or another, you chose to believe in it. Self-hypnosis. What if there were a snapping of fingers that broke the hypnosis?

Better off with online blackjack than poker. Even the roulette wheel at 5Dimes has less of a house edge than most poker games.

i live in vegas, been playing for 5 yrs. and win 8 out of 10 sessions. although i have busted out before playing 5/10 fixed, and 3/6 fixed. sortof. i saved some $ and just played lower cash games to rebuild my bankroll. fixed cash is a fish fry at lower levels because it is full of newbies who do not know how to play yet. how can a guy who has been playing for 1 yr beat a guy who plays every day for 5 yrs.? fixed cash lower levels. oh yeah. confident the money is mine.
i sort of hate giving advice out, but you should study ur azz off. with books by poker pros. you will eventually gain a edge.
oh yeah, and if ur ever in vegas, stop by some of the poker rooms and grab some free pro poker magazines. take them back to ur state or country and study them. keep them with you. know everything from back cover to front cover.
if you live in vegas, the local libraries carry 200 books on poker. OH YEAH.
and you can access "the gamblers book store" in vegas and order books from them. they have a website. also i hate giving up GREAT advice but 2+2 website has good poker books. better then good. website.
LOL. and ur welcome.
**** i'm a nice guy giving up the secrets to winning the $ consistently. This ain't no Bullshit.
Wrong. Suckers lose at poker. Suckers apparently also don't use punctuation.

Without question a bad poker player will lose less playing roulette than he will playing poker at equivalent stakes against skilled opponents. That said, the house edge in roulette, with very few exceptions, can never be beaten. With poker it's very rare for the rake to be so high as to make winning impossible. You don't even have to be that good to win money at poker if you game select well.

Haven't played online poker in 9 months. Takes up too much time and also is bad for the immune system if you play for 8 or more hours straight.

Poker is beatable but the online game is not the place of easy money that it used to be5-6 years ago. It is so hard to get money on and off a site now that most people won't jump through the hoops to play for really money. That means you have fewer fish. In addition, I'd say the overall quality of players online and in casinos has risen with the spread of information on the game. You figure 10 years ago there were a few dozen books maybe, now there are hundreds.
As for online games being rigged, I have seen so much crazy situations happen and there have been several high profile cases of cheating at the major sites so you'd have to be foolish to think online poker is 100% on the level. Having said that, I think the online poker is still a viable way to make money at the lower limits.

Same here, some of the beats you see on absolutely dead draws are interesting to say the least.
