    Chinese Are Sharp

(CNN) -- A Chinese high-speed train broke a world record Friday for fastest unmodified commercial train, reaching speeds of up to 481.1 kph (298.9 mph), state media reported.

According to China's official Xinhua news agency, the new-generation CRH380 moved as fast as a low-cruising jet-plane during a trial run on what will become the country's rail line between Beijing and Shanghai.

The previous world record was set by China in September, when a train on a Shanghai-Hangzhou high-speed line hit a speed of 416.6 kilometers per hour, Xinhua said.

I've rode on them once, unless you're looking out the window, you can't tell how fast you are going.

well no. you are 40,000 ft in the air. you cant tell how fast you are going. on a train you are at ground level with wheels moving. id say its a little different. but nice try

If you try to see outside the window at a house or something you could get dizzy since the house is so close to the train. A plane up 40,000 ft will not have an object close enough to focus on.

I've been on my bike going about 150mph, and everything is a blur at that point. There's not really anything to focus on except what is directly in front of you. So imagine going double that speed. You wouldn't have time to focus on anything whatsoever - it would all be one steady blur.

I for one would definitely trust anything the "official state media" of China reports.

Then why do you trust Foxs News, the propaganda machine of the Rupublican Party?
