    Matchbook Live Betting?
What's up with Matchbook Live Betting?

Yesterday, Tuesday, Nov. 30, '10 there was only one live game . . . and that was an NBA game shown only on NBA TV . . . which most players do not subscribe to.

Same problem today . . . only one live game listed . . . another NBA TV game.

Why are there not college basketball games being made available for Live Betting that are being shown on ESPN and ESPN2?

    Email them at accounts@matchbook.com

Can't agree or disagree since I have not played there . . . do any of them that offer Live Betting allow US citizens to play?

Looks good . . . too bad they discriminate by not letting USA players wager.

USA live betting sites are garbage, software locks up, always too many delays in bets, not many games offered and few betting options on the games.

              Hi JJ,

I have had some of the experiences that you noted (quote bolding is mine) but those are not the case all the time . . . but they do happen far too often.

Matchbook, a betting exchange, seems to be the best of what is available to USA players; however, liquidity can be a problem from time-time.

But what are USA players to do when our options are rather limited?

sky1, try 5dimes live betting if you are in the u.s.

jj, as far as live betting is concerned, perhaps you could recommend a few euro books that take u.s. customers...

Liquidity is very poor in Matchbook in-play games. Almost zero. Can't compare with BetFair.

                    Hi raydog,

I used to bet 5D a few years ago until I began betting almost exclusively Live . . . at the time I quit using them, I don't recall them offering Live Betting.

So, at your suggestion, I just took another look at 5D's current offerings and note that it appears that they only offer "Live Betting" during commercial breaks.

To me, "Live Betting" means continuous throughout the game; however, 5D might be viable to hedge with if Matchbook does not offer consistent liquidity on a particular game . . . as long as their pricing is competitive. (Also, WSEX is useless as they are on pause more often than not. I withdrew funds from there as they now look like a book destined to fail.)

                    Thanks for the 5Dimes suggestion!

Depends what games you're talking about. Liquidity is pretty good for SNF and MNF.

                        Sawyer,

                        Yeah, I agree . . . I sometimes look at Betfair . . . unfortunately, they don't allow Yanks!

                          d2bets,

Agree . . . SNF and MNF are almost always very, very liquid and in size at MB . . . sometimes other offerings are also very liquid and sizable . . . however, generally, there needs to be no or not much time slot competition for this to occur.

                            New Matchbook Live Betting Offering

I see where Matchbook is now offering a college basketball Live Betting game this evening:

Maryland (5-2) at Penn St. (5-1) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge Series and shown on ESPN2 . . . pointspread keeps bouncing back and forth between -1 and +1 so pregame bettors must be in substantial disagreement as to the outcome . . . which may make for good Live Betting opportunities.
