The fine on James Harrison is a joke

the team owners should just cover all the hit fines. if i owned the team i wouldnt want my players ever slowing down to hit somebody.

What? That's ridiculous, it doesn't matter how much money he has, these fines are absurd. He has been fined over 100 grand this year by the NFL, that's insane.

Trust me, I absolutely hate the penalties and rules now in football. The game isn't what it use to be, but I think he takes it to a different level.

Lots of flags keeping teams in the games these days. In every game there is one team who is well over 100+ in penalties. Stupid flags on 3rd and 18 extending drives.

Has he ever torn off an opponents helmet, then proceed to punch him in the face 3 times?

The real joke is how he fines Andre Johnson and Finnegan 25K each for a fist fight, and then fines harrison the same for a tackle. So Goddell is trying to say that ripping someones helmet off and punching them in the face is equal to a helmet to helmet?

this is what i was saying to my pops...i don't want my defense being scared or playing like bitches...the hard hits are what generates turnovers and gets offensive players thinking twice about running over the middle.

Ouman also makes a very good point. It seems harrison has been pinpointed and I don't think its fair

The tackle he made on fitzpatrick should never have been a fine or even a flag...another example of the pussification of football...really pisses me off, and I hope it never costs my team a game

The play shouldn't of been a fine, tackles like that happen every game so I dont see what the big deal is. The NFL is singeing out Harrison and its disgusting in my book.

You can't use your helmet as a weapon to head butt someone. The league needs to protect the QB since they are the ones making all the money.

The league is also actually trying to protect players like Harrison. Leading with your head is a great way to eventually cause brain damage or paralysis.

I like this thought. As outlandish as it initially seems, I wouldn't put this past Roger or any other NFL official who wants to keep the players salaries down

The reason given fore the fine might be the most absurd thing so far.

"James Harrison was fined $25,000 for roughing the passer, specifically he made helmet contact to the chest of the Buffalo quarterback, who was in a defenseless position at the time the contact was made," the NFL said in an e-mail Tuesday to The Associated Press.
