    SHARPS? pff
I've been around the game a LONG time. "Sharps" gets thrown around a lot around these parts as well as its usage by the "books."

After all this usage, it seems to me that the term is overused and meaningless. The "public" has been crushing games lately. Seems to me the "sharps" have been getting crushed.

Or are they just bigger bettors? Do they win more often? Who's deciding that they are "SHARPS?"

sharps are considered winners. they can be on the same side of the public or against, playing dogs and favorites. Unless you know a sharp you will have no clue what a sharp has bet.

What the public has won the past few weeks is probably 1/10th of what they lost last super bowl

Anyone that looks at results of a two week period is a square. Successful gambling is always a long term proposition.
