Can someone please explain the horrendous performance by the San Francisco 49ers with a 21-0 loss against the supposed underdog Tampa Bay Buccaneers? I haven't followed the threads for this week, but I am assuming this game was viewed as a trap being that the public was pounding the Bucs, yet the spread remained stagnant. And all week I kept thinking why SF was even favored in the first place? Can anyone explain why the lines makers didn't budge to what seemed like a legitimate bet for the Bucs?

#2You were telling us in another thread: "The only part I disagree with is the subtle insults, about the quality of my questions and my thinking level, as if you are familiar with my background, and actually have any idea as to what standard level of thinking I've been held accountable to; a false assumption."
I'd say that your series of questions in this forum reflect a mind not in the habit of figuring things out for yourself. Intelligence isn't static, it's developed through effort. If I see signs of intellectual laziness, I deduce lack of developed intelligence. So, stop being lazy. This isn't school. No one cares about your self-esteem here. That's a good thing; embrace it.
Put some effort into answering the question yourself, then I'll give you mine.

#5i'm probably at the 89.5 degree angle but i would guess that your information about how much money was being bet and by who is not accurate.
if there was insanely more money on the Bucs i would guess that the line would have moved some. i'm not sure but looking forward to some insight from the smarter people here. BTW there are no traps. how would it work? would all the books meet up with their competition and say yea come on fellas lets set a bad line to catch all the mid to low level cappers out there?
either the line is right or the book is leaning a bit in which case the sharps and scalpers soon pound it back into shape.Comment -

I think it's hilarious that you actually take the time to track down my previous posts just to prove a point; that somehow, you're correct. Do you feel better about yourself now??? And then you mention self-esteem??? How ironic is it that you're the one mentioning self-esteem when, behind the scenes, you're secretly browsing my posts to boost your self esteem, to prove what you think is a point. Sorry, I'm a little more evolved than that, but I'm glad you feel better now.Comment -

#15Why?
Because people keep saying " The 49ers are due" after they picked them to win the NFC West and have lost for weeks and weeks and weeks. Plus they were playing an overrated by their record Tampa team but then again they were trash themselves.
Too many fools bought the Troy Smith " I'm black, I'm mobile, I always give my team a chance to win" hype like the slaughtered lambs that they are.Comment -

#23Happens all the time. New,England lost to some team who was in the bottom of their division. I think when a team thinks they are better than the other, that they come out with a lack of effort. I'd say 21-0 is a reasonable explanation of taking the Tampa Bay Buccaneers too lightly. I think you would heartily agree. Otherwise, we have to come to the conclusion that the better team was victorious on Sunday.Comment -
