Why doesn't college basketball play the same amount of time as pros?
college basketball is the only sport i think that doesn't match up time for time with their pro counter-part. not so much the quarters vs. halfs, but rather 48 minutes in the nba vs. 40 minutes in college. you don't see college football playing 4 quarters totaling 52 minutes? anybody got any legitimate insight on why?

oh, and why are there so many fu(kin fouls in college bball?

NBA is the only sport with 48 minutes. College basketball and international basketball is 40 minutes.

In the NBA they don't call travelling so they allow 48 minutes for all the non-calls where the clock doesn't stop.

As Pav pointed out, it isn't College Hoops that is different, it is the NBA.

There are a few fundamental differences between the NBA and College Hoops beyond the time-----the 3 pt distance, Fouls, Man v. Man/Zone.

I hate the NBA. But that's just me.
