just proves that I and hundreds of people I have talked to were right.. the coach needed to go over a year ago.. romo too.. but the f\/cker will remain and play after he heals.. I wish kitna could have amazing games from here on out so Romo would be dropped to 2nd string (and then look for a good replacement for kitna)

Yes, it felt like a veiled insult, either from the connotations of "special" or some inside thing like you suggested. Especially when he said how anyone who worked for him would know just how "special" he was.
