Actually, depending on their jurisdiction, it is legal for a minor (from a certain age on up to 17) to have a relationship with a person of age with parental consent. How do you think that teenagers under 18 (but have reached the age of puberty) have appeared in movies topless? They have signed parental consent.

Right, I agree.

What I mean, and I wasn't clear was even if a parent gives consent for a daughter to do something that is illegal I am not sure that an over zealous DA couldn't still prosecute. And I think they should prosecute.
For example, can a parent tell his kid, hey it is okay is you drink and drive? No, I don't think so.

And of course, if the law states with parental consent, well that is a different story.

It's not legal unless she is of the age of consent in her state, but theres really no way he can get ****** over if the parents are alright with it because it is usually the parents of the minor who are to blame for statutory rape charges.

Yup, back when I went to college in Louisiana, a friend of mine was 25, and he was hooking up with a 16 year old girl. Her mom got pissed at the guy, and went to the DA. The DA made a deal with the guy that if he married the girl, he wouldn't pursue the statutory rape charges. He married her, then divorced a year or so later. I guess not bad, considering the minimum sentence on a statutory rape charge in louisiana.
